One of my highest profile design assignments while working as an experience director at Britelite Immersive was for SuperBowl 50. To celebrate the bi-centential of the biggest sporting event in America the city of San Francisco invited the SuperBowl Host Committee to completely take over the downtown area and form 'Super Bowl City' for the nine days preceeding the event.
BLI worked for almost an entire year on 4 bespoke interactive experiences that would be responsible for entertaining close to 2 million guests visiting from all over the world. Our team developed 2 Unity-based gaming experiences that were deployed on 12 guesture controlled gaming cabinets. These original SuperBowl-themed game experiences were such a hit among families and fans that patrons patiently waited in long lines for their turn to participate.
Bringing focus to this large city-wide spectacle our team programmed the main video wall inside the Fan Energy Zone which hosted real-time game statistics and leaderboards. The Fan Energy Wall also hosted live social media mosaics, camera feeds from around the city and sister events and also provided the backdrop to the various announcers and music acts that took the main stage at Super Bowl City.
