At the begginings of 2017, my good friends at the VJ Collective hired me to develop key visuals for Insomniac's newest meadevil themed music festival, Middlelands. The event took place at the Texas Renaissance Festival Fair Grounds over 3 days and was host to over 30,000 party-goers. As to be expected with any Insomniac production, the main stage was a spectacular custom build intended to look like a castle façade.
It was both an honor and unique technical challenge preparing content for this massive production. My team and I created three animated base scenes to support the castle-themed ambiance as well as an entire library of supplemental overlays.
Our visuals were used to support massive acts such as Marshmello, Rae Sremmurd, and Danny Brown and even received massive praise from Insomniac CEO Pascal Rottella. In the end Middlelands was a massive success and remains one of the most unique Insomniac music festival to date.
