Working with a collective of three other artists, we aim to produce an hour long immersive 360° dome show for CULTVR Lab's venue space in Cardiff, Wales. We hope to be awarded the Catalyst 360° Immersive Arts Residency for 2025, which will enable us to develop and produce our shared vision for a spectacular live experience. Featuring music written and performed by R2 The Specialist, we will take viewers on a deeply compelling dark drum n' bass odyssey through dimensional superstructures. This immersive spectacle that traverses multiple worlds will have a custom score written from the ground up for live performance in 15.1 surround sound, with live drumming performed by R2 The Specialist. The dome's surface will be used to display custom rendered and mapped thematic content designed to support the musical narrative. Live audio reactive layers of animation will span the dome's surface.

Our team will create bespoke render pipelines using Cinema4D and Octane Render to create video content, in combination with Resolume and TouchDesigner for live playback. For additional audio reactive elements, we will use plugins and software such as NestDrop Midnight Edition and various TouchDesigner patches to generate dazzling, captivating visuals. We will render and composite incredible, detailed scenes of particle systems, otherworldly structures, depth illusions, and more. Lighting will be pre-programmed and synchronized to the performance, making it an immersive experience that fully envelops the audience.

Our show, driven by the dark, atmospheric drum n’ bass of R2 The Specialist, will transport audiences through vast dimensional landscapes. A fully original 15.1 surround sound score, combined with live drumming, will synchronize with custom visuals mapped across the dome. Audio-reactive animations will further enhance the rich visual experience. We are grateful for the opportunity to apply for this residency and appreciate CULTVR’s consideration, as well as the support of the Arts Council of Wales in making this project possible.
